2010 Charity Golf Outing

Updated On: Jan 14, 2010 (07:28:00)

Waukesha Professional Firefighters Local 407

January 3, 2010

The Waukesha Professional Firefighters Local 407 held their 7th Annual Charity Golf Outing last June. Over $9,500 was raised for needy charities, thanks to the generosity and support of local businesses and individuals.

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010, Ironwood Golf Club will be hosting our 8th Annual Charity Golf Outing. Proceeds from this year’s outing will again benefit three main charities: Muscular Dystrophy Association, Wisconsin Fire Alliance Burn Camp for Children, and the Waukesha Area Food Pantry and a smaller percentage to other local charities. Continued success in this event is dependent upon the goodwill of our sponsors, contributors and participants.

Interested parties may sponsor a hole or donate items to be raffled off the day of the event. The cost to sponsor a hole will remain $75.00 per hole. If you are interested in contributing through a donation or sponsorship, or have any questions, please contact Scott Purdy at
 262-613-2642 or at sjpurdy@gmail.com

Respectfully,

Scott J Purdy

New Year's Greeting to Our Members & Friends;

Well, my 1st guess is anyone who left Wisconsin for 3-4 months, can't be even remotely having any fun in 60 - 90+ degrees, no boots, gloves, scraping, shoveling, etc. LUCKY..

I got my 1st taste of icy streets on Dec. 22nd, fell flat on my back, broke my left ankle and now have an even BIGGER respect for persons disabled, never could believe the ''abuse'' in the disabled parking spots, now I really notice it, trying to go shopping, etc.

But it could have been worse, for ALL Our members who are confined to wheelchairs and various other disability aides indefinately, I feel real bad for you and do admire the smiles and positive additudes I have observed.

On another note, as You know, the active members of the Professional FF's of Wisconsin
(PFFW)in most cases, are getting 'squeezed' by their Communities to forego raises, pay more on insurance, manpower reduction, additional ''work-loads'',etc.and will probably NEVER see those benefits returned IF & WHEN things get back on track with our Economy.
If You see or hear of things ''going sour'' in your Community, see what HELP you or fellow retirees can do to ''show support'', recently Lacrosse has a Mayor who felt eliminating 1/2 or more of the Professional FF's in that City might work,Thanks to the efforts of RPFFW Board member Rich Placek and other retirees alongside the actives, sounds like that plan is far
from becoming reality!!

If these type of plans are 'on the horizon', in your area, let myself or fellow RPFFW officers know,so we can ask the actives HOW CAN WE HELP YOUR CAUSE??

The reason I am concerned with this type of disloyalty to the actives is, if the Cities and Towns get away with ALL those cutbacks, gee,Ya think Our benefits could be next??

Your Board is committed to keep both eyes open as to what goes on in Madison and around the State, Let's hope things improve in 2010 and everybody stays as healthy as can be!

Watch your RPFFW Webpage, upcoming events, ad comments, send in stories etc.

                                                                               Mr. Boz'
